Painful defeat for Atlético Baleares at Can Misses (1-0)
CD Atlético Baleares suffered a (1-0) defeat during their visit to Ibiza after a highly competitive match that was decided in the last minute through a penalty.
Above all, it was the devoted ATB fans who stood out, supporting their team with sportsmanship throughout the game.
The match started with a lot of parity and some clear chances for the home team. In the 22nd minute, Ferroni had the opportunity to score for the Balearic team, but his shot went over the crossbar.
Towards the end of the first half, UD Ibiza had a clear chance from a direct free-kick, which was cleared by Jero. With the score still at 0-0 and ATB well-established on the field, halftime arrived.
The second half began much like the first, with an even contest that was close to being decided with a header from David Rodríguez inside the penalty area. Pastrana was a true headache for the local defense, but Olartua cleared the best opportunity for the Balearic #10.
As the match neared its conclusion and appeared to be heading for a 0-0 draw, the home team scored from a penalty. Gallar scored the only goal of the game after overcoming Jero, who had been very solid throughout the match.
