Adri Català breaks the deadlock as Florin seals victory over Alcoyano (2–0)

Atlético Baleares struck twice in seven minutes to secure victory in a match that had remained goalless at half-time. Adri Català made an instant impact off the bench, scoring with his very first touch to break the deadlock against Alcoyano. Florin doubled the lead shortly afterwards, converting Gerardo’s assist to seal a 2–0 win and keep all three points at the Estadi Balear.

The home side created several openings in the first half but lacked the finishing touch to take the lead. Raúl looked to link up with Izan in the early stages, while Vicenç was called into action at the other end, saving a free-kick in the 11th minute.

Bover brought creativity to ATB’s attacking play. He was involved in two moves around the half-hour mark: a pass towards Caballero that came to nothing after Florin was caught offside, and a cross that Játiva managed to clear. Raúl tried his luck again before the break, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.

The game took a different turn after half-time. Following another attempt from Caballero, blocked by the defence, Óscar Troya introduced Adri Català and Miguel Soler in place of Izan and Pablo Hernández. The substitutions paid off immediately: in the 62nd minute, Adri scored with his first touch to put the hosts ahead.

With the deadlock broken, Baleares began to create more chances. Adri himself set up Raúl for a shot, but the striker failed to convert and Florin fired the rebound over the bar. It was a warning of what was to come.

In the 69th minute, Gerardo picked out Florin, who turned the ball into the net to make it 2–0. The second goal rewarded the home side’s attacking intent and gave Troya’s men a comfortable cushion heading into the closing stages.

ATB had opportunities to extend their lead. Nofre produced an excellent move that ended with Raúl shooting over, while Caballero nearly caught the opposition out with an audacious effort from the halfway line that drifted narrowly wide.

Rubén Catalá and Jofre Cherta came on for Raúl and Bover to complete the home side’s substitutions. After six minutes of added time, the final whistle confirmed a victory built on a strong second-half display, inspired by the impact of the substitutes and the clinical finishing of Adri Català and Florin. Two goals, a clean sheet and three points secured at the Estadi Balear.

The next challenge comes this Thursday, 29 October, at 7:00 pm, when CD Eldense visit the Estadi Balear for the first round of the Copa del Rey.
