Óscar Troya: “We want our fans to feel identified with the team”

Óscar Troya’s presentation as the new head coach of CD Atlético Baleares, held at the offices of Titanes Inversores Inmobiliarios, offered the first opportunity to hear from both the Mallorcan coach and the club’s general manager, Patrick Messow. Both highlighted the strong alignment between all parties, their excitement about the new project, and the ambition to build a competitive team capable of reigniting enthusiasm among the Balearic supporters.

Patrick Messow, General Manager

“After several weeks reflecting on the future of the project, we decided that Óscar was the best option. I am fully convinced that he is the right coach for Atlético Baleares.”

“We have a great understanding, and our ideas about the team and the club are exactly the same. He perfectly embodies what we want to represent as a team and as a club.”

“From the very beginning, he was clear that he wanted to come here, and we were equally clear that he was our coach.”

On Ingo Volckmann and the project

“He knows he cannot walk away from Baleares, and he has always said so. He will never abandon the club. He cares so deeply about the club that he simply cannot accept not doing things well. We are going all in once again. There will be a reduction in the budget, but we are not afraid of anything. We will work with the resources we have and build the best team possible to reach our objectives.”

Thanks to Luis Blanco

“I would like to thank Luis Blanco for all the work he has done. There was never a public opportunity to do so. He is a great coach and a great person. I wish him all the best both personally and professionally.”

Miguelito extends his contract

“I can confirm that Miguelito is the first player to renew his contract for next season.”

Óscar Troya, Head Coach

“The project presented to me is an exciting one, and for us it represents another step forward. We reached an agreement relatively quickly because we were completely aligned and shared the same vision.”

“The first objective is to build a strong squad; the second is to turn it into a great team. Talking about promotion in June is neither reasonable nor logical.”

“The goal is always to win, regardless of the opponent. We are fully prepared to handle pressure because it is something we work on every day.”

“We are a coaching staff with hunger, experience, proven results, youth and a strong desire to keep growing.”

“We want a Baleares side that inspires people and one that supporters can identify with.”

“There will be difficult moments, but we need our fans behind us and we want them to feel represented by us.”

“The badge alone will not win matches; the badge represents responsibility.”
