Luis Blanco’s press conference and the presentation of Hugo Anglada and Darius Fustos alongside Air Europa
The press room hosted head coach Luis Blanco, who assessed the team’s current situation and looked ahead to the upcoming match against CD Alcoyano. Sporting director Marc Julià also introduced the club’s two latest signings, Hugo Anglada and Darius Fustos, at an event held with the support of Air Europa, the club’s sponsor.
Head coach Luis Blanco said:
On the week of training:
“It’s been a slightly different week with a midweek match against a German side, and we’ve taken positive conclusions from it.”
On the upcoming opponent:
“We know how tough the ground is and the quality of the opposition — a team built to go up as well. The feeling is that we’ve prepared well this week.”
On the squad:
“The group dynamic is very positive and there’s strong competition throughout the squad.”
“As for Bover’s injury, with muscle issues you have to monitor the player’s progress. We hope he’ll be back competing in a few weeks. At first, it looked like it might have been more serious.”
“The team’s energy is good. Everyone wants to contribute. We have the pieces needed to fight for our objective.”
Marc Julià, sporting director, on the new signings:
“Darius was a market opportunity. He’s a very hardworking centre-forward coming from Deportivo Aragón and he fits perfectly with what we’re looking for.”
“Hugo Anglada is 21, from Huesca and developed through their academy. We’ve faced him before and know his potential well.”
“A centre-back comfortable playing out from the back, with quality and plenty of room to grow.”
Hugo Anglada said:
“It all happened very quickly. I was told Baleares had made contact and that the opportunity was there. I had three clubs interested, but once this option came up, it was clear to me.”
“The project is really exciting and from day one everything was very easy on a personal level.”
“Baleares are one of the teams I’ve liked most in the competition. I really like the playing style.”
“I’m versatile. Playing out from the back is ultimately my strongest attribute.”
Darius added:
“First of all, I want to thank the club. It’s a pleasure to be here.”
“Everything around the club feels professional and you notice it day to day.”
“I’m very happy and eager to make the most of every minute the coach gives me.”
“I’ve been in this division for years and I know what it demands.”
“I see myself as a quick striker who likes attacking space and moving inside the box.”
“I’m young and Tovar is having a great season. Competition is healthy for the team and helps all of us improve.”
