Goalless draw at «El Collao» (0-0)
A high-intensity contest ends all square
The team earned a hard-fought point on their visit to Alcoy after a 0-0 draw against CD Alcoyano in a highly competitive match that demanded great physical effort.
ATB started brightly in the opening ten minutes and created the first clear chance in the 11th minute, when Tovar set up Sheriff, but his effort went wide. In the 17th minute, a controversial moment followed a corner, with a possible foul on Pol inside the box that went unpunished. On 25 minutes, Alejandro tried his luck from the edge of the area, but his shot was blocked. Before half-time, Ulrich was shown a yellow card.
The second half began with a heavy challenge on Tovar. The game became more fragmented, with few clear-cut opportunities. Gerardo and Moha were booked — the latter will miss the next match through suspension — and Tovar also saw yellow after stopping a counter-attack.
The coach turned to the bench to freshen things up, with Darius and Pachón replacing Ulrich and Moha. Later, in the 73rd minute, Jofre and Serrano made way for Morillo and Castell for the decisive stages.
As for the hosts’ chances, Pablo produced a fine save to keep the scores level. ATB had their opportunity through a Pachón strike that flew over the bar. In the 93rd minute, Alcoyano nearly snatched the winner with a direct free-kick that crashed against the crossbar in the most dangerous moment of the match.
