Florin Andone extends contract until 2027
CD Atlético Baleares announces the contract extension of Florin Andone for one more season, through the 2026/2027 campaign.
The blue-and-white captain underwent surgery in November 2025 for a partial, almost complete, tear of the direct tendon of the right rectus femoris, with an estimated recovery period of four to five months.
With this renewal, the player will be deregistered at federation level, allowing the club to free up a forward spot and enter the market to strengthen the position ahead of the decisive phase of the season.
This decision reflects the mutual commitment between the club and the player: on the one hand, Andone’s desire to remain linked to Atlético Baleares and support the team during his recovery; on the other, the club’s full confidence in one of its flagship players, both on and off the pitch.
Last season, Florin Andone posted outstanding numbers, scoring 12 goals and providing 2 assists in 19 matches, and was named best player of Segunda RFEF Group 3. In the current campaign, prior to his injury, he featured in four matches, scoring twice.
Statements from Patrick Messow
The club’s CEO, Patrick Messow, explained the reasoning behind the decision:
“We are satisfied and have full confidence in his recovery process. However, we are at a key moment in the season and the timelines are very tight. There was a chance he could return for the final stretch, but we are now facing decisive matches. For this reason, the club felt it was the right move to proceed in this way. Florin has understood the situation at all times and has shown complete willingness.”
Statements from Florin Andone:
“Very happy and grateful for the trust shown in me. I will defend these colours with pride and work every day so we can enjoy success together again.”
