Álex Pachón, new blue-and-white striker
CD Atlético Baleares have completed the signing of striker Álex Pachón (25) until the end of the season, following the termination of his contract with Unionistas CF, a Primera Federación side.
The Catalan forward, born in Vilafranca del Penedès, has had limited playing time this season with the Salamanca-based club, featuring for 170 league minutes and 225 minutes in the Copa Federación. By contrast, in the 2024/25 campaign he enjoyed an outstanding spell with UD Bergantiños, playing 33 of a possible 34 matches —31 as a starter— and contributing 10 goals and 2 assists, becoming a key attacking figure.
A product of the Girona FC academy, Álex Pachón made his Segunda División debut with the first team and shared youth-team experience with Jofre Cherta and Moha Keita. At national elite level, the striker has also been called up on five occasions in LaLiga.
A right-footed forward, Pachón stands out for his mobility, ability to attack space and natural goalscoring instinct — qualities that strengthen Atlético Baleares’ attacking line for the remainder of the season.
Sporting director Marc Julià assessed the signing as follows:
“We are very pleased to strengthen the squad with a reference striker like Álex Pachón following the unfortunate medical setback suffered by Florin Andone. He is a forward arriving at full footballing maturity with significant room for improvement. He works extremely hard, has good movement and an eye for goal, and we are convinced that Atlético Baleares can provide the right environment for him to succeed and play an important role in achieving our objectives.”
The player will be officially presented alongside fellow winter signing Marc Lachèvre on Wednesday 28 January at 1:00 pm at the ConectaBalear offices (Carrer Fusters, 14, 07500 Manacor, Illes Balears).
