The CD Atlético Baleares announces the arrival of Jaume Mut to the white and blue bench

The Mallorcan coach signs for a season and a half and will debut this Sunday at the Estadi Balear against San Fernando. Mut will already lead the team today and will be officially presented next Friday at the press conference prior to Matchday 28.

Jaume Mut will take over the reins of the team after coaching CD Manacor, a team currently in fourth place in the Balearic Tercera RFEF. The new white and blue coach has experience as an assistant to Julio Velázquez at Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivisie, the highest category in the Netherlands. He also had the opportunity in La Liga EA Sports as Velázquez’s assistant at Alavés.

In addition, Mut is a Balearic football classic and for the past 30 years, he has coached teams on the island such as Santanyí, Campos, Ferriolense, Cardassar, Manacor, or Felanitx. Mut led Santanyí to its first promotion phase to Segunda B in the 2003-04 season, and he was also the coach of Manacor in its last appearance in Segunda B in the 11-12 season.

The new Balearic coach also had the opportunity to coach the Juvenil A team of CD Atlético Baleares in the 13-14 season in the División de Honor where he achieved permanence in the top Juvenile category. Now the challenge is to secure permanence in Primera RFEF after 27 rounds played, with the relegation positions 10 points away.

Jaume Mut does not come alone. On the bench, as assistant coach, he will be accompanied by Miquel Gomila. Also from Mallorca, he has been the assistant coach at different stages with Mallorcan Xisco Muñoz in teams such as Dunajska Streda in the Slovak First Division, SD Huesca, or Sheff Wed in the English second division. Gomila already coincided with Mut at CD Manacor last season. Previously, he worked as a fitness coach at teams like Panathinaikos, RCD Espanyol, or Rubin Kazan.
