CD Atlético Baleares drew 2-2 with RCD Mallorca B at the Estadi Balear in their sixth Segunda Federación fixture of the season. Óscar Troya’s side took a two-goal lead through Adri Catalá, but the visitors fought back in the second half to earn a point.
The home side started brightly, looking to take control of possession and threaten the opposition goal. Throughout the first half, Troya’s men pushed forward in search of an opener. One of their clearest chances came in the 38th minute, when Jofre Cherta struck a volley that sailed over the crossbar.
The breakthrough came shortly before half-time. In the 43rd minute, Adri Catalá pounced on a loose ball inside the penalty area to fire Atlético Baleares into a 1-0 lead, which they carried into the break.
After the restart, the home side continued to press forward in search of a second goal. Miguel Soler had a promising opportunity after winning possession high up the pitch, while Raúl Caballero forced the visiting goalkeeper into a save with a low, angled effort in the 54th minute.
The pressure paid off again in the 57th minute. Adri Catalá got on the end of a pass from Jofre Cherta to score his second goal of the morning and double the advantage to 2-0.
However, Mallorca B responded and pulled a goal back in the 63rd minute. With the score at 2-1, Óscar Troya turned to his bench to inject fresh energy into the side, bringing on Florin Andone, Izan Llinares, Fabrice and Rubén Bover.
As the match entered its closing stages, the Mallorca reserves pushed for an equaliser and found it in the 85th minute to make it 2-2. Atlético Baleares refused to settle for a draw, and just two minutes later Rubén Bover tried his luck with a shot that flew over the bar.
Despite five minutes of added time, neither side could find a winner, and the points were shared at the Estadi Balear.
CD Atlético Baleares will return to action on Sunday, 18 October, at 11:00 am in Lorca for their seventh Segunda Federación fixture of the season.
