Key home win against Reus FC Reddis (2-1)

The blue-and-white side kicked off their match against Reus FC Reddis with some notable changes to the starting XI. Darius led the line in place of Tovar, who was carrying a knock, while Manu Morillo returned from injury and Moha was back after serving his suspension.

The game started at a good tempo. Iván López had the first effort with a low drive that went just wide and, in the 9th minute, a dangerous cross from Morillo caused problems in the visitors’ box. In the 21st minute, a pinpoint delivery from Iván López was flicked on by Alejandro, but there was no one there to finish. Shortly after, on 25 minutes, Pablo García kept the team level with an excellent save.

The breakthrough came in the 30th minute after a brilliant solo run from Moha, who dribbled past four defenders from the Catalan side before calmly slotting home with his left foot to make it 1-0. The lead, however, was short-lived, as just two minutes later Kenneth equalised following a defensive lapse from the Balearic side.

After the break, the team stepped up a gear. Víctor Morillo registered the first shot on target of the second half, although his effort was blocked. Then, in the 49th minute, captain Jaume Pl unleashed a stunning left-foot strike that found the back of the net to restore the lead and make it 2-1.

The hosts could have put the game to bed soon after, but Jofre saw a clear-cut chance drift inches past the top corner. Reus pushed as well and, in the 59th minute, Pablo once again came to the rescue with a brave intervention to deny the equaliser.

The final stretch was marked by the red card shown to Xavi Jaime in the 70th minute, leaving the visitors down to ten men for the last 20 minutes. Head coach Luis Blanco made a triple substitution: Víctor Morillo for Iván Serrano, Rubén Bover for Moha and Ulrich for Alejandro. In the 80th minute, Jofre made way for Pachón to shore up the defence.

With a numerical advantage, the team managed the closing stages well to secure a hard-earned victory.
