First Pre-Season Victory (2-1)

Troya’s side passed their first pre-season test with flying colours after edging past the Vermilion side 2-1 in a hard-fought contest that was decided in the closing stages.

The Whites and Blues started the match with Sabater, Montcheu, Hugo, Martí, Guijarro, Pablo, Gerardo, Jofre, Miguelito, Caballero and Catalá in the starting eleven.

The game could not have started any better. In the 8th minute, Adri Catalá unleashed a superb angled strike that clipped the post before finding the back of the net to make it 1-0. In the 33rd minute, Hugo was forced off with a physical issue and was replaced by Álvaro Martín.

The second half began with a raft of substitutions to freshen up the team and share the minutes, as Juli, Alpha, Áxel, Soler, Bover and Lázaro replaced Vicenç, Miguelito, Gerardo, Jofre, Pablo and Catalá.

The visitors restored parity in the 60th minute (1-1).

In the 71st minute, academy youngster Lázaro won a penalty after a brilliant individual run. Bover stepped up from the spot and calmly converted to secure the final 2-1 victory.

Troya’s team successfully passed their first pre-season test. With no time to rest, attention now turns to the next fixture: this Saturday, 1 August at 6:30 pm, they will face CE Santanyí at the Estadi Balear.
