Defeat with controversy at Narcís Sala (2-0)
ATB suffered a 2-0 defeat against UE Sant Andreu in a match marked by a lack of finishing and several key moments that ultimately swung the result in favour of the hosts.
The Balearic side started well, showing personality and presence in the opposition half. As early as the 2nd minute, Moha had the first attempt, and shortly after, in the 4th minute, a cross from Morillo found Manu, whose effort went over the bar. The team was creating chances but lacked precision in the final third.
As the minutes passed, the game became more balanced. Moha tried again in the 18th minute with a cross that found no taker, while the team kept pushing without reward. In the build-up to the home side’s goal, Jofre forced a yellow card.
In the 26th minute, UESA took the lead through Serrano in a controversial move following a possible foul on Sheriff that went unpunished. The goal dealt a blow to the visitors, who saw the game slip away despite their strong start.
Before half-time, the team tried to regroup but failed to create clear chances. Alejandro was booked in the 37th minute.
After the break, ATB stepped up. Manu tested the goalkeeper in the 48th minute.
In the 61st minute, Pablo made an excellent save to keep the team in the game.
Just as the team was at its best, the decisive blow arrived. Sant Andreu took advantage of a move following several substitutions to make it 2-0, once again through Serrano.
In the final stages, attempts from the flanks, especially by Moha and Morillo, came to nothing.
The final whistle confirmed a painful defeat for the team, whose hopes of taking the top spot were halted after a match in which they paid dearly for their lack of efficiency and several key decisions.
