Balears FC claims the 4th Margarita Miranda Trophy at Estadi Balear

Before kick-off, a well-deserved tribute was paid to Marina Orozco for her long-standing commitment to the club since its foundation.

Balears FC’s starting XI was:
Sandra Torres, Andrea Alcaide, Joana Valcaneras, Marina Crespo, Fátima Traversaro, Naroa Santana, Úrsula Galdón, Abi Quiróz, Nerea López, Lili Moya and Núria Pomer.

The match against Mallorca International FC was highly tactical and hard-fought, with both sides defending in an organised way and giving very little away. Several players from FEM B also featured, showing character and promise.

When everything seemed to be heading for a draw, in the 92nd minute Elena Montané won a decisive penalty. From the spot, Sofía Rojas converted calmly to seal the 1-0 win and secure the trophy for Balears.

Special mention goes to Naroa Santana, the team’s new signing, who played the full 90 minutes and was named MVP of the match.

Now the focus shifts to what’s next: this Sunday, September 7 the league kicks off away against FC Ona Sant Adrià.
