Atlético Baleares secures its fourth consecutive draw (1-1)

CD Atlético Baleares picked up another point against Terrassa FC (1-1) on matchday 22 of the Segunda RFEF (Group III). The blue-and-whites leveled the score in the 90th minute thanks to a penalty converted by Florin Andone.

The Balearic side started strong and controlled the early stages of the game but lacked accuracy in front of goal. First, Berto in a one-on-one, and later Florin, had the clearest chances to take the lead.

In the 43rd minute, the home team broke the deadlock after forward Boere capitalized on a defensive error. After dribbling past Morillas, he slotted the ball home to make it 1-0, a scoreline that stood at halftime.

After the break, Atlético Baleares pushed forward in search of an equalizer. Florin, Berto, and Tovar, who came on in the second half, all had chances to score. The breakthrough finally came in the 90th minute when Florin converted from the penalty spot.

The match ended 1-1, marking the team’s fourth consecutive draw. Next Sunday, February 16, at 12 noon, Atlético Baleares will host Sant Andreu at Estadio Balear.

Jaume Mut’s post-match statements

“The results are what they are. We created clearer chances, but they played a great match. Based on our performance, we deserved the win”.

“We always aim to control possession, both at home and away. Terrassa is one of the strongest teams in the league. We had control for large parts of the match, but they also made us suffer”.

“The referees always try to do their best. It wasn’t a controversial game. Both teams competed, and the officials did their job”.

“We’re not happy with our position in the standings. Anyone who watched the game would think Baleares should have won. This league is extremely competitive, and we haven’t been outplayed by any team. Today, we were the better side because we did more than our opponents. I have no doubts about my team”.
