Atlético Baleares secures an important victory in Elche to stay in third place (2-3)

CD Atlético Baleares achieved a crucial victory at the Altabix Municipal Sports Complex in Elche after coming back twice against Ilicitano (2-3). Rubén Bover, with a brace, and Guillem Castell were the scorers for Atlético Baleares in this match of the fourteenth round of the Segunda Federación Group III League.

Jaume Mut’s team started very well but had to come from behind twice. Ilicitano took the lead with an own goal by Nuha following a corner kick. Shortly after, it was Nuha himself who earned a penalty. Rubén Bover stepped up and scored his first goal wearing the blue-and-white jersey.

Before the half-hour mark, the home side regained the lead with a cross from the flank. Five minutes later, again from a set piece, the 2-2 came. Guillem Castell was quick to react, scoring his second goal of the season.

With a clear chance for Sergio Moreno, the game went into halftime with the score tied. After the break, the blue-and-whites dominated the tempo and possession. Sergio Moreno and George contributed significantly to Jaume Mut’s side.

In the 66th minute, Florin Andone made his debut. He created the third goal with a fine play down the left to assist Bover, who didn’t miss.

With the 2-3 scoreline, the match ended, and the blue-and-whites secured three points to remain in third place in the standings, tied with the second and two points behind the leader.
