Atlético Baleares edged out in Yecla (1-0)

CD Atlético Baleares opened the 2026/27 season with a narrow 1-0 defeat against Yeclano Deportivo at La Constitución.

The game got off to an even start, with neither side able to take control in the opening stages. The Blue and Whites gradually grew into the match, with Miguel Soler going close to breaking the deadlock with two efforts from outside the box. In the 32nd minute, Soler was shown a yellow card for stopping a counter-attack. Atlético Baleares also looked to threaten from crosses, but both defences stood firm and the sides went into the break goalless.

The tempo increased after the restart and Yeclano took the lead in the 55th minute. Óscar Troya turned to his bench as Atlético Baleares pushed for an equaliser until the final whistle.

Bover tried his luck from outside the area, while Caballero had a good opportunity after pouncing on a loose ball inside the box. In the 80th minute, Iván López became the second Atlético Baleares player to be booked. The final chance fell to Gerardo, whose effort went over the crossbar.

A narrow defeat in a match in which the Blue and Whites were unable to make the most of their chances.

Next Sunday brings another challenge away from the Estadi Balear. Atlético Baleares travel to face CF Intercity at 11:30 in the second league fixture of the season.
