Martí Payeras becomes Atlético Baleares’ third signing
CD Atlético Baleares have added 22-year-old Mallorcan defender Martí Payeras to their project after an outstanding season with UD Poblense in Segunda Federación.
Capable of playing both as a centre-back and a defensive midfielder, Payeras was one of UD Poblense’s standout performers during the 2025/26 campaign. Despite his young age, he established himself as an indispensable member of the squad, playing more than 3,000 official minutes and starting regularly throughout the season, including the promotion play-off matches.
His performances were instrumental in helping UD Poblense finish among the league’s top sides and compete for promotion until the very end. His understanding of the game, competitive mentality and defensive reliability have made him one of the most promising young talents in Balearic football.
Alongside his physical presence and strength in duels, Martí also stands out for his tactical intelligence and versatility.
CD Atlético Baleares Sporting Director Marc Julià spoke highly of the new signing:
“Martí perfectly represents the type of player we want to bring to Atlético Baleares. He is young, ambitious, talented and has enormous potential for further development. Despite being only 22, he has already shown remarkable maturity, becoming a key player in a team that fought for promotion until the very end.
He played virtually every important minute of the season, including the play-offs, which says a great deal about both his competitive level and the trust he earned. We believe that experience will be extremely valuable for us.
We knew several clubs, including reserve-team structures, were following him closely, but from the very beginning we presented him with our project and showed our confidence in his potential. We are delighted that he has chosen ATB to continue his development.
We are convinced he has everything required to become an important player over the coming years, and we want to support him throughout that journey. His arrival perfectly matches our vision of building a competitive team while also planning for the future.”
Welcome, Martí!
