CD Atlético Baleares falls at Castalia (4-2)

CD Atlético Baleares couldn’t overcome the league leaders on their visit to Castalia (4-2). Juanma Barrero’s team displayed a good performance against CD Castellón, a team that hasn’t experienced defeat (or a draw) at home. David Rodríguez and Armando were the scorers for the white-and-blue in a very good final stretch of the first half. In the second half, the two decisive goals for Orelluts arrived.

The match started with a Balearic team eager to change their away image from the Estadi Balear. Juanma Barrero’s team began with the usual system, focusing on defensive solidity, which has had a positive impact since the arrival of the Extremaduran coach.

In the first 20 minutes, both teams had approaches to the opponent’s areas, but neither goalkeeper had to intervene to prevent the initial goal. In the 22nd minute, the hosts had the first clear opportunity. David Navarro committed a penalty, but Jero Lario guessed De Miguel’s shot. In what was becoming a frenetic few minutes, CD Castellón scored two goals.

Without giving up, CD Atlético Baleares took a step forward, and first from the penalty spot, and then thanks to a bit of magic, they equalized the score. David Rodríguez didn’t miss from the penalty spot after a foul provoked by Toni Ramon, and Armando showcased his magic to level the score before halftime.

In the second half, the hosts went for the win. Despite being well-organized, the visitors couldn’t resist against an Orellut team that didn’t waste their chances. De Miguel scored with a header, impossible for Jero. In what was turning out to be a great game, Miguelete came very close to equalizing again. In injury time, with the white-and-blue team pushing forward, the fourth and final goal arrived.

The match ended with a 4-2 score. Another defeat for the white-and-blue, but with a better performance. Now, they will play away from Palma to face Recreativo Granada.
