ATB Loses to Ceuta at Estadio Balear (1-2)
CD Atlético Baleares suffered their second defeat of the season at Balearic Stadium as they lost to AD Ceuta (1-2) in the fifth matchday of the First RFEF Group II. Tato García’s team couldn’t overcome a Ceuta side that secured all three points with an 80th-minute penalty.
The opening goal of the match arrived in the 20th minute. Meléndez slotted the ball home, making it impossible for Jero to save (0-1).
After halftime, ATB changed their attitude and pushed forward. In the 51st minute, they managed to equalize. Filial team player Piera executed a brilliant individual play, and David Rodríguez finished it off (1-1).
Just when ATB seemed to be playing more comfortably and creating chances, the visiting team scored the winning goal through a penalty converted by Pablo in the 80th minute (1-2).
The home team continued to try until the end but without luck. After this match, ATB is now the sole bottom-placed team in the Spanish football bronze category. Next Saturday at 6:00 PM, ATB will play in the province of Málaga against Antequera.
