CD Atlético Baleares continue to show positive signs against Santanyí (4-1)
CD Atlético Baleares started the match with Juli Rivas in goal; Iván López, Álvaro Martín, Barto Fontanet and Guijarro in defence; Pablo Hernández, Rubén Bover and Jofre Cherta in midfield; and Axel Bejarano, Adri Catalá and Florin Andone leading the attack.
Óscar Troya’s side controlled the game from the opening whistle. Florin Andone opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a header from Guijarro’s cross, added his second in the 28th minute after Pablo Hernández won back possession, and completed his hat-trick six minutes later by finishing another cross from Axel Bejarano. Santanyí pulled one back shortly afterwards, and the teams went into the break with the score at 3-1.
In the second half, Troya made wholesale changes to continue sharing the minutes across the squad. The team remained in control and, in the 74th minute, Raúl Caballero sealed the 4-1 victory after a superb assist from Fabrice Montcheu, following an incisive through ball from Mario Lázaro.
Another victory for the blue and whites, who continue to build momentum and deliver encouraging performances as they prepare for the start of the new season.
Next up is CD Llosetense on Wednesday the 5th at 6:00 pm at Estadio Balear.
