Niehoff Baleares becomes new sponsor of CD Atlético Baleares
CD Atlético Baleares officially unveiled its new sponsorship agreement with Niehoff Baleares on Tuesday, 28 July, at the company’s headquarters. The event also featured the official presentation of new signings Álvaro Martín and Fabrice Montcheu.
The club was welcomed by Álvaro Llompart, General Manager of Niehoff Baleares, who greeted the Atlético Baleares delegation and gave them a tour of the company’s facilities.
CD Atlético Baleares General Manager Patrick Messow thanked Niehoff Baleares for its confidence in the club’s project:
“I would like to thank Álvaro and the entire Niehoff team for placing their trust in CD Atlético Baleares. We are proud to welcome a new sponsor for the next two seasons. Niehoff is a leading outdoor furniture company with a strong international presence and is already heavily involved in sport across the Balearic Islands. We are delighted to welcome another partner to our family.”
For his part, Álvaro Llompart, General Manager of Niehoff Baleares, said:
“As a German company with a global presence, we aim to support sport wherever we operate. We want to contribute to the growth of football, just as we do with other sports, and we are convinced that together with CD Atlético Baleares we can grow and achieve many successes.”
Sporting Director Marc Julià welcomed the club’s two new signings:
“Álvaro Martín is a left-footed centre-back who is competitive, commanding and excellent in one-on-one situations.”
“He also has an excellent range of passing.”
“Fabrice came through the youth ranks at FC Union Berlin. He is 28 years old, naturally comfortable with both feet, extremely quick, aggressive and very difficult to beat.”
Marc Julià also reflected on the club’s summer transfer business:
“We are pleased with how we have approached the transfer market.”
“We are still looking to add another attacking player.”
“We are happy and excited about the work we have done.”
“We have retained the core of last season’s squad.”
Álvaro Martín expressed his excitement:
“Marc showed great confidence in me from the very beginning, and that meant a lot. I like to have the ball and I’m a very competitive player.”
“For me, football is all about winning your duels. I have plenty of experience and many matches in this division, and I believe I can adapt very well to the team.”
“I see myself primarily as a centre-back.”
Fabrice Montcheu also explained why he chose to join the club:
“I wanted a new experience. I believe the culture and the style of football in Spain suit my qualities as a player.”
“The biggest difference between German and Spanish football is that football in Germany is much more physical, whereas here the game is more technical.”
“The defensive approach is different, movement on the ball changes, and even the climate has an impact because it isn’t as hot in Germany.”
“I can play in several positions, although right-back is my preferred role.”
