Luis Blanco: “We have to be ourselves and set the tempo of the game”
The head coach faced the media to analyse the upcoming away match this Sunday, 25 January, at 12:00 pm.
On the demands posed by the opposition, the coach warned:
“They control many situations and constantly look to get in behind. They are a very demanding team and on their own ground they already put us under pressure at many moments”.
According to the coach, the key will be imposing the game plan:
“We have to be ourselves and dictate the tempo of the match. The competition is very tough and we will only be closer to victory if we control the game, both in possession and out of possession. We need to play at a very high intensity”.
Regarding the team’s current condition, he noted:
“Right now the team is doing well, players are coming back, and we are fully aware of the level of demand that lies ahead”.
On the arrival of Álex Pachón, the coach highlighted:
“He’s a player who comes in to add value. We clearly lacked options in that position and the team needed that profile. We are very pleased with his signing”.
As for the situation of Florin Andone, he explained:
“Florin is fully committed to the project and understood what was best for the team. There were no guarantees that he would be back at full capacity for the final stretch of the season, and we are very happy with his attitude and commitment”.
Finally, regarding the squad and the winter transfer window, he concluded:
“As things stand, we have available under-23 registration slots. We are working to see how we can improve, knowing that the winter market is a complex one”.
