Painful Defeat in Reus (4-0)

The team led by Luis Blanco made up to four changes compared to the Copa del Rey match played last Thursday. Pablo García returned to goal, while Castell and Ramis started as full-backs instead of Morillo and Miguelito. Up front, Moha was the attacking reference, replacing Juanmi Durán.

The match turned sour very early on. In the 5th minute, after a rather harsh decision, Jaume Pol was shown a straight red card, leaving the team with ten men for almost the entire game. Despite their efforts, Reus took advantage of the numerical superiority, and in the 22nd minute, Xavi Jaime put the hosts ahead (1-0) after a cross that came following a possible foul on Ramis.

Even so, the team didn’t give up and created clear chances, with a powerful shot from Ramis and another attempt by Moha that came close to equalising.

In the second half, Luis Blanco kept the same eleven, but the lack of finishing again proved costly. In the 54th minute, a low free-kick taken by Xavi Jaime made it 2-0 for the home side.

In the 70th minute, Florin, who had replaced Tovar, had a great one-on-one opportunity, but his shot went wide. The 3-0 came in the 80th minute in another situation where Pablo García could do little, and in the 90th minute, Reus sealed the result with the final 4-0 after a close-range finish.

A match clearly conditioned by the early sending-off, which forced the team to play uphill from the start. Added to that was a lack of accuracy in front of goal, preventing them from taking advantage of the chances created.

Time for self-reflection and to focus on the next league fixture: Sunday at 12:00 p.m. against Girona B, where the team will look to get back to winning ways.
