Luis Blanco: “The team is hungry to win”
Atlético Baleares head coach Luis Blanco admitted that his team is “in a good place mentally” despite recent results. The blue-and-white manager also shared his thoughts on Girona B, their next opponent, and provided an update on the squad’s medical situation.
Reflection on the match against Reus:
“Last week’s defeat wasn’t pleasant, but given how everything unfolded, it felt like everything that could go wrong, went wrong.”
“Even so, the team played a very good first half.”
“We were coming off a demanding Copa match.”
Looking ahead to the Girona B game:
“This week we need to do everything as well as possible.”
“Girona B are a great team; they’re one point ahead of us.”
“They’re a reserve side with tremendous energy and great football.”
“They’re a tough opponent, and we’re quite short on available players.”
“The youth players are always ready. We won’t know until tomorrow who we can count on for the match, but they’re prepared and eager to help.”
Squad medical update:
“We’ll be without Iván López for quite a while. A possible operation is being considered, but we don’t yet have all the information.”
“Rubén Bover will also be out for several weeks.”
“Guillem Castell has been struggling a bit; we’ll see if he can be available on Sunday.”
“Iván Serrano might be back for this call-up, same as Manu Morillo.”
“Florin Andone is fully fit and available for the match.”
“Jaume Pol won’t be able to play due to suspension.”

Team’s mental state:
“We’ve tried to reset mentally these past few days.”
“It’s been a good week of training.”
“I want our players to have a winning mentality.”
“The group is hungry for victory, but we also need to channel that properly.”
“We can’t afford to go so long without a win.”
“Our goal is ambitious — we want to be at the top.”
Atlético Baleares will face Girona B next Sunday, November 9, at 12:00 at Estadi Balear.
