CE Europa beats Atlético Baleares in the first match of the year (3-1)

CD Atlético Baleares fell in the first match of the year against CE Europa at the Municipal Nou Sardenya. Jaume Mut’s side couldn’t secure anything positive in this 18th round of the Segunda RFEF League (Group III). The Catalan team was more effective.

The game started with CE Europa dominating, but the first clear chance went to ATB. In the 18th minute, Bover, from a direct free kick, sent the ball crashing into the crossbar.

With Atlético Baleares well-positioned and transitioning effectively, the home team’s chances were limited. It was in the final stretch of the half when, after a defensive error, the locals scored the first goal. Mahicas beat Jaime Morillas (1-0). The visiting goalkeeper nearly managed to save it.

CE Europa scored their second in the 70th minute after a period with no chances. Mahicas took advantage of a great ball from the edge of the area (2-0), unstoppable for Morillas.
