Atlético Baleares draws in the last minute against Lleida (1-1)

CD Atlético Baleares secured a point in the final moments against Lleida CF at the Estadio Balear (1-1) during the 19th matchday of the Segunda RFEF League (Group III). Carlos Benítez’s goal meant taking a point and keeping the goal difference intact against a direct rival.

The match started with the home team well-positioned on the field and creating good scoring chances. Sergio Moreno and Toni Ramon had two clear opportunities, but their shots missed the target.

Before halftime, the visitors hit the crossbar following a brilliant individual play. The first half ended goalless.

After the restart, Toni Ramon had another golden opportunity, but it was the visitors who struck first. Mario Domingo fired a powerful shot from the edge of the box in the 56th minute (0-1).

The home side responded immediately, creating three chances to level the score. Bover, from a direct free kick, sent the ball crashing off the crossbar.

In the final play of the match, Carlos Benítez equalized after a cross from Josep Jaume (1-1). With the 1-1 draw, the blue-and-white team secured a point and tied the goal difference against Lleida CF.

The blue-and-whites will visit Penya Deportiva’s stadium on Sunday, January 26, at 12 noon to play the 20th league match.
