CD Atlético Baleares renews agreement with Hyundai Proa Automoción and unveils Vicenç Sabater and Rubén Catalá
CD Atlético Baleares has renewed its sponsorship agreement with Hyundai Proa Automoción for another season this Wednesday, 19 August. The event also provided the opportunity to officially unveil two of the first-team’s new signings for the 2026/27 season, Vicenç Sabater and Rubén Catalá.
During the presentation, Patrick Messow, the club’s General Manager, thanked Hyundai Proa Automoción for its support over the years and highlighted the importance of continuing to work alongside companies that believe in the club’s project and in Balearic football.
Patrick Messow, on the renewal:
“We have been together for many years and Hyundai is a brand that has always supported us. We are delighted to have them with us for another year and that they continue to back Balearic football. I would also like to mention Alejandro Gallego, Hyundai’s manager, who unfortunately could not be with us today.”
Marc Julià, on Vicenç Sabater:
“Vicenç is a 33-year-old, 1.87-metre goalkeeper who joins us from Poblense. He was a key player in their project last season. He is a highly regarded player and we are convinced he will help us enormously in achieving our objectives.”
Marc Julià, on Rubén Catalá:
“Rubén is a 23-year-old striker from Alcoy who recorded seven goals and six assists last season. He has been part of some of the most renowned academies in the country. He is a powerful striker but also has a very composed finish in front of goal. We wish both him and Vicenç the very best in this new chapter.”
Vicenç Sabater:
“I think we have a fantastic and very close-knit group. They have welcomed us really well and we are settling in very quickly. The team had an outstanding season last year and I think they were only missing that little bit of luck. I have joined with a clear belief that we can achieve promotion.”
“Óscar knows how I work and what I am like both as a footballer and as a person. When the offer came, I was delighted to accept it. The club has made a major effort and investment to ensure that we, as players, feel like professionals.”
Rubén Catalá:
“I’m very grateful to have the chance to be part of this attacking partnership with Florin. He is someone who has played at a very high level and is always willing to offer advice whenever he can help. I’m delighted to be sharing a team with him.”
“Even though I’m a big striker, I feel I’m quick. I’m very comfortable in front of goal and, outside the box, I try to help the team and provide solutions. I think this is a club where I can continue to progress in my career.”
“Last year I was in a different situation because I was an under-23 player. Pre-season is obviously different, we’re all a little more fatigued, and it’s a matter of building up our rhythm and getting to know our teammates better and better.”
