Atlético Baleares, unlucky against Cornellà (1-1)

CD Atlético Baleares earned a point at Estadio Balear after drawing against UE Cornellà in the 21st matchday of Segunda RFEF (Group III). Jaume Tovar scored the only goal for the home team.

The match started with a special photo between both teams supporting the #EnContraDelCáncer campaign against cancer. The ATB dominated the game and had the best chances, but luck was not on their side.

Cornellà took the lead (0-1). Boris got past Morillas in the 26th minute with an individual effort. From that moment on, Jaume Mut’s players kept pushing for the equalizer.

The equalizer nearly came in the 30th minute when Plomer hit the crossbar. Later, Benítez, Sergio –with a double chance– and Pascual tried to level the match, but halftime arrived with a 0-1 scoreline.

After the break, Mut made three substitutions. Tovar, Forniés, and Berto came on, with the latter making his debut for ATB.

Just five minutes into the second half, Tovar found the equalizer with a superb finish. In the next play, debutant Berto was close to scoring, but Miño made a great save. It would have been a perfect debut.

Pascual, Berto, and Sergio Moreno had more clear chances before the final whistle, but the ball just wouldn’t go in. The match ended with ATB fully committed in attack.
