Atlético Baleares loses in the last minute in Alzira (1-0)
CD Atlético Baleares fell at the Luis Suñer Picó stadium against UD Alzira in the twelfth matchday of the Segunda Federación League (Group III). ATB was superior to Alzira but did not capitalize on its chances, and the home team won the match thanks to a goal in the 90th minute.
The match started with CD Atlético Baleares pressing hard and creating many dangerous chances in UD Alzira’s box. In the 8th minute, the referee awarded a penalty to the white-and-blues after a clear foul in the area on Toni Ramon. Sergio Moreno stepped up to take it, but the goalkeeper saved it.
From then on, Mut’s team kept attacking, with individual actions leading to chances near the rival’s goal. Toni Ramon and Ulrich tried their luck, but their shots were also stopped by the local keeper.
Míchel, from a direct free kick, attempted to score for the home side in the first half, which was highly competitive. The score remained 0-0 at halftime.
The second half mirrored the first. Good plays by Atlético Baleares that didn’t end in goals. With George and Plomer on the field, the clearest chances arrived, but the goalkeeper, in heroic form, saved Alzira.
In stoppage time, Jawed took advantage of a counterattack to score the 1-0. In the final play of the match, George, Toni Ramon, and Nuha had a triple chance to secure a point for ATB, but the ball didn’t go in.
