Atlético Baleares come from behind against Terrassa and secure second place in the regular season (3-1)

The blue-and-white side earned a solid home victory over Terrassa FC (3-1) in a match that highlights the team’s competitive growth in the second half of the season.

The game started at a high tempo. In the 5th minute, Tovar came close to opening the scoring, setting the tone for what followed. However, it was Terrassa FC who struck first in the 13th minute, taking advantage of a cross to make it 0-1.

ATB responded immediately. Just two minutes later, Iván López produced a brilliant individual move and finished with a precise low strike to level the score (1-1).

The key moment of the first half came in the 19th minute: Moha finished off a great move after an outstanding pass from Tovar to make it 2-1. Before halftime, Moha threatened again, but an offside call denied what would have been the third goal.

After the break, the coach made changes, bringing on Miguelito for Lache to maintain intensity on the wings. The move paid off: a strong run down the flank led to a cross, and in the 64th minute, “the gunslinger” Tovar made it 3-1, effectively sealing the match.

The team remained in control, creating a double chance in the 67th minute: first Moha and then Bover, both from distance, came close to scoring. In the final stages, further substitutions were made, including Manu Morillo, Víctor Morillo and Darius.

In the 90th minute, a great play by Bover left Darius one-on-one, underlining the team’s complete dominance in the closing minutes.

It was also a special match for head coach Luis Blanco, who celebrated his 50th game in charge of the club.

Post-match press conference:

“We’re having a very strong second half of the season at home. The team feels comfortable and competitive. The goal we conceded today was avoidable, and we need to keep improving on those details.

Step by step, the team has regained its energy, and that shows on the pitch. We’ve taken a step forward competitively, becoming more consistent throughout matches.

Next week could change a lot; there are still things to be decided. We won’t know exactly how everything stands until Monday. We’ll see if there’s a chance to play in the afternoon.”
