Victory in Barcelona to keep the good momentum going (0-1)
ATB secured a hard-fought win on their visit to Barcelona against RCD Espanyol B in a match shaped by squad rotation. Luis Blanco introduced several changes to the starting eleven, bringing in players such as Axel, Manu and Darius.
The first half was evenly matched with few chances. Both sides looked solid defensively. In the 16th minute, Pablo kept the team in the game with an excellent low save from a rival effort. Shortly after, Manu Morillo produced one of the standout moments of the first half, creating a clear chance that ended with the opposing goalkeeper injured after the collision.
After the break, the team turned to the bench. Ramis came on for Castell at half-time, and in the 57th minute further changes followed with Pachón and Juanmi replacing Darius and Morillo in search of more attacking threat.
Pablo García once again showed his reliability with a confident intervention in the 70th minute, with Pol alert to the rebound. In the 73rd minute, two more substitutions were made as Serrano and Jofre replaced Víctor Morillo and Miguelito.
When the draw seemed set in stone, Lache stepped up. In the 83rd minute, the defender rose highest to head home a superb cross from Morillo, opening his scoring account for the team.
In the closing stages, ATB could have extended their lead, especially with a clear chance for Juanmi in the 90th minute.
A sixth consecutive victory for the team, who remain in excellent form and are now firmly focused on the playoffs.
