CD Atlético Baleares get the job done in Porreres and secure play-off qualification (0-1)
CD Atlético Baleares claimed a hard-fought win at Ses Forques against UE Porreres (0-1) in a solid performance that mathematically secures their place in the promotion play-offs.
The match started with Juli taking the spotlight. The goalkeeper, starting between the posts, looked confident from the outset, comfortably dealing with an early dangerous counter from Porreres. As the minutes went by, the blue-and-white side grew into the game, although clear-cut chances were limited. Miguelito tried his luck with a high volley in the 11th minute, while Moha, very lively throughout, hit the post in the 26th.
The first half was also marked by yellow cards for Gerardo, Rubén and Lache in a physical and competitive contest. Before the break, Tovar had a header and Mori attempted a right-footed effort, but neither found the target.
After the restart came one of the key moments of the game: a penalty for Baleares in the 47th minute, but Tovar sent his effort over the crossbar.
Far from being discouraged, ATB kept pushing. Moha once again proved decisive by winning a second penalty in the 73rd minute. This time there was no mistake: he converted from the spot in the 75th minute to make it 0-1.
In the closing stages, the team managed their lead with maturity, backed by Juli’s reliability in goal, who prevented any late scares.
At the final whistle in Ses Forques, CD Atlético Baleares not only took three points but also confirmed their objective: a place in the play-offs.
