Atlético Baleares signs Florin Andone
It has taken some time, but Florin Andone is now a player of CD Atlético Baleares. The Romanian player signs for this season and the next, marking his second stint at the blue-and-white club.
Florin joins CD Atlético Baleares immediately and, once he is fit, he will be under the orders of Jaume Mut to make his debut with the team. Andone is recovering from a minor discomfort and will soon be ready to help the team achieve its goal.
His first spell as a blue-and-white
Florin Andone had a standout performance with CD Atlético Baleares during the 2013-2014 season, when he arrived on loan from Villarreal CF. That season, the Romanian striker played 34 matches and scored 12 goals, his first great season in Spanish football, allowing him to showcase his potential and attract the attention of bigger clubs.
Florin’s stats and career
After his time at Atlético Baleares, Florin Andone signed with Córdoba CF in 2014. In his first season in Segunda División B, he stood out with 21 goals, earning a spot in the first team, where he played in La Liga after the club’s promotion. Despite Córdoba’s relegation, Andone stayed and established himself as one of the top scorers in the category, which earned him Player of the Month awards multiple times.
In 2016, Andone was signed by Deportivo La Coruña for a record fee for the club. During his two years in La Liga, he scored a total of 18 goals. His performances opened the doors to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League, where he made his mark with crucial goals in league and FA Cup matches. His career in England was followed by loan spells at Galatasaray and Cádiz before returning to Spain to join Eldense.
In the 2023/24 season, Florin Andone played 29 matches in Segunda División with Eldense, starting 19 of them, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist in those matches.
The new blue-and-white player has also been capped by Romania and has played in the Champions League with Galatasaray.
The signing
Ingo Volckmann and Patrick Messow have been after Florin Andone for a long time, and for both of them, as well as the club, this is a big step and, above all, a major commitment in the pursuit of their goal. For the General Director, Andone’s arrival is a hard-fought achievement and also a reward for years of work: “Andone is a very special player, and for years, we have held him in high regard. He is an elite player who joins the project to help Baleares grow. We are very happy and proud to have Florin, not only for this year but also for the future.”
